Participants will experience on-site visitation of sites and locations that may be new or unfamiliar to them and to view familiar sites in a different context. Participants will learn to do the following:
- View history from a hidden heritage point of view
- Explore sites through local field investigations
- Connect field investigations to a variety of curriculum standards
- Conduct a variety of hands-on field-based investigations and integrate opportunities to do math, to construct and/or analyze maps, to read, to write
The courses successfully completed provide three (3) undergraduate CEU credits and 90 recertification points
The history courses are offered in partnership with Norfolk State University. Other endorsements will be offered in partnership with Virginia Union University.
